4G to Affect Radio Mics in Australia – Move Spectrum by 31 Dec 2014

Reallocation of Australian radio spectrum is likely to affect theatre groups, places of worship, community associations, schools and anyone else using radio microphones.

The Australian Communication and Media Authority has reminded all Australian users of radio microphones and other radio transmission equipment in the  694-820 megahertz (MHz) frequency range to move spectrum.

4G mobile communications will need this spectrum from 1 January 2015. Those who use equipment on that spectrum must move to new frequencies by 31 December 2014.

If your equipment is 12-18 months old it’s likely that it uses the new spectrum but it’s best to check that it does while there is time.
